Chevreuse Guide: How to Build, Teams, Weapons | Chevreuse vs Kazuha

Chevreuse is released as playable character in Genshin impact with version 4.3 update. She is a great four-star character and very fun to play. Chevreuse will be a great support for Pyro and Electro Characters and will use overload reaction as part of her teams.

Let's see her playstyle, kit, Artifacts, constellations and how good Chevreuse is compared to a character like Kazuha.

Chevreuse Genshin Impact

Chevreuse's Abilities and Kit explained-

Chevreuse is a 4-star polearm pyro character and will excel in the role of team buffer. She will be playable only in the niche of overload teams the team must have only electro and pyro characters and at least one of each element.

Elemental Skill - Short-Range Rapid Interdiction Fire

Chevreuse quickly shoulders her musket and fires at her opponent(s), dealing AoE Pyro DMG.

Hold to fire differently.

Hold Mode

  • Enter Aiming Mode, locking a target in her sights to fire a precise interdiction shot. If Chevreuse has an Overcharged Ball, then she will fire the Overcharged Ball instead, dealing greater Pyro DMG in a larger area.

  • Chevreuse gains 1 Overcharged Ball every time a nearby character in the party triggers an Overloaded reaction, and can have up to 1 Overcharged Ball at a time.

  • Chevreuse will gain an Overcharged Ball when anyone in the party will trigger an overload reaction.

For a short duration after Chevreuse fires a shot, she will continuously restore HP to the active character on the field. The amount healed is based on her Max HP.

Elemental Burst - Ring of Bursting Grenades

Chevreuse fires an explosive grenade at opponents with her musket, dealing AoE Pyro DMG. After the projectile hits, it will split into many secondary explosive shells.

The secondary explosive shells will burst after a short interval, dealing Pyro DMG to nearby opponents and pulling them to the centre.

Passive Talents

Vanguard's Coordinated Tactics

When the Elemental Type of all party members is Pyro or Electro and there is at least one Pyro and one Electro Elemental Type each in the party:

  • Chevreuse grants “Coordinated Tactics” to nearby party members: After a character triggers the Overloaded reaction, the Pyro and Electro RES of the opponent affected by this Overloaded reaction will be decreased by 40% for 6s.

Vertical Force Coordination

  • After Chevreuse fires an Overcharged Ball using Short-Range Rapid Interdiction Fire, nearby Pyro and Electro characters in the party gain 1% increased ATK for every 1000 Max HP Chevreuse has for 30s. ATK can be increased by up to 40% in this way.

Chevreuse Playstyle - How to play Chevreuse?

Chevreuse will be played at her potential in teams with only electro and pyro characters. For her maximum potential, you will need to trigger an overload reaction with any party members so that Chevreuse can get an Overcharged ball. After that, you can use Chevreuse's elemental skill for maximum buffs.

She will reduce 40% electro and pyro resistance of enemies affected by overload reaction for 6 seconds. So you will need to keep triggering overload reactions on the enemies. Using an elemental skill with the overcharged ball she will give the party atk% boost depending upon her max hp.

Lyney + Yae/Fischl + Chevreuse + Bennett

Sub DPS

Yae/Fischl + Chevreuse + Xiangling + Bennett

Yae + Fischl + Chevreuse + Bennett

Chevreuse Constellations Review

Chevreuse is a very good unit at C0 but her constellations are also very good and makes here a strong unit. Her C4 and C6 stand out the most as the most impactful on her power level.

  • C1 - Provides Energy team

  • C2 - Increase Elemental skill damage

  • C3 - 3 levels to elemental skill

  • C4 - can use multiple elemental skill (3 times, one regular + 2 hold version)

  • C5 - 3 l3vels to elemental burst

  • C6 - more healing to the team. 20% electro and pyro damage to healed character for 8 seconds. (max 3 stacks)

Chevreuse vs Kazuha: Is Chevreuse worth?

Chevreuse is a very good 4-star unit at C0 and is a must build character if you don't have Kazuha. At C0 she can compete with a F2P Kazuha, but will lack AOE damage and crowd control. At C6 she will be able to replace an F2P Kazuha easily from many teams and at C4 she can be a great Sub DPS character as well as buffer.

At C0 she is not worth investing into if you already have Kazuha on your account. As not only Kazuha is more versatile and provides Crowd Control, Overload can be a very annoying reaction in Chevreuse teams due to knockback effect.

Whether you should pull and play any character in Genshin Impact should totally depend on whether you like the character, its design and story. Whether you find its playstyle fun or not. Genshin Impact is not a competitive game so build whatever character you like playing.
