G2 and Faze moves to semi-final of IEM Katowice, joins Navi and Heroic
G2 and Faze won their quarterfinals game in IEM Katowice 2022 and moves to semi-finals. G2 beat Virtus.Pro while Faze won against Gambit esports to secure the top 4 place in IEM Katowice 2022.
VP and Gambit finished IEM Katowice 2022 with a 5th-6th place finish and $40,000 USD prize money. On the second day of playoffs (February 26th) both the semi-finals will be played-

IEM Katowice 2022 quarterfinals result-
First day of playoffs had two quarterfinal games- G2 vs VP and Faze vs Gambit. It was a bad day for CIS fans as both their teams got eliminated from quarterfinals but still one more CIS team is in tournament, the world number 1 NAVI.
In the first quarterfinals G2 won 2-0, the first amp mirage was an insane game as the game went in triple overtime where G2 came out on top and won 25-22. G2's 16 year old star monesy had his stage debut and had the best possible debut performance he could have imagined. Monesy had 45 kills in first map and lead G2 to victory. The second map ancient was an different story and was a one sided affair in favour of G2 (16-5).
Second quarterfinals was in between Faze and Gambit. Gambit had a slight edge in this matchup but Faze had different plans. They came out strong and won the first map 16-5 (Dust 2), Gambit put up a better fight in Inferno but Faze also took second map 16-11 and took the series 2-0. Faze was playing in with JKS as stand-in for rain and lead the team with his entry fragging.
