G2 Esports are IEM Katowice 2023 Champions, defeated Heroic in Grand Final

The world's number one CSGO team, G2 Esports continues their dominating year and won the IEM Katowice 2023 with ease. G2 defeat Heroic in the grand finals of IEM Katowice and won $400,000 from the million-dollar prize pool, G2 also qualified for IEM Cologne 2023.

G2 vs Heroic IEM Katowice final Result-

In the grand finals, G2 and Heroic went head to head in a best-of-5 game. Both teams were dominating everyone in their run to the finals.

The first map went to G2, they won Nuke 16-12 after a comeback. Second map was Mirage, G2 came back again from behind and won 16-13. After winning this map, G2 made history with the longest winning map streak on LAN, they had a 21-0 record from the December of 2022.

The third map of the grand finals was Inferno, Heroic won it 16-11 and finally broke G2's winning streak. The fourth map was Ancient, G2 won 16-7 and closed out the series 3-1 to win IEM Katowice 2023.

G2's JKS was the MVP of the IEM Katowice 2023. He became the first Australian-born player to win MVP of a tier 1 CSGO event, JKS also became first ever player to win IEM Katowice back to back with different teams, first with Faze and now with G2.
