Genshin impact 4.1 phase two Banner is live with Wriothesley and Venti as featured 5-star characters. Wriothesley is currently one of the fan favourites for his design style and story. His banner will feature Thoma, Chongyun and Dori as 4-star characters, and all of them are very bad characters, especially for new and F2P players. So in this article, we will be discussing Wriothesley and whether you should pull for him or not.
Wriothesley is the newest addition to the game and similar to other Fontaine 5-star characters so far, he is also an on-field DPS character. Wriothesley is a Cryo, Catalyst user who will deal most of his damage through normal attacks.
Wriothesley Kit Review: Genshin Impact
Wriothesley is the first Cryo Catalyst user in Genshin Impact. Gameplay and ability-wise he is very similar to Wanderer as he will deal the majority of his damage from his normal attacks. His elemental skill will increase his normal and charged attack damage and his elemental burst will also deal multiple instances of elemental damage in an AoE. The only difference is that he will lose his HP to gain buffs similar to other Fontaine characters,
Wriothesley Elemental Skill - Icefang Rush
Wriothesley enters the Chilling Penalty state which increases his interruption resistance. When his health is above 50%, Chilling Penalty increases the damage of his Normal Attack: Forceful Fists. When he hits an opponent in this enhanced Forceful Fists state, Wriothesley will lose a fix amount of HP every 0.1 seconds.
This effect is removed when Wriothesley is off the field.
Wriothesley Elemental Burst - Darkgold Wolfbite
Wriothesley strikes out with an icy straight, then uses Icicle Impact to cause multiple instances of AoE Cryo damage in front of him.
His burst will also deal an instance of Ousia-aligned cryo damage.
Ascension talent 1 : When Wriothesley's health is less than 60%, he obtains a Gracious Rebuke, enhancing his next charged attack into Rebuke: Vaulting Fist, which does not consume Stamina, deals 50% increased damage, and restores HP for Wriothesley after hitting equal to 30% of his maximum HP. Wriothesley can gain a Gracious Rebuke this way once every five seconds
Ascension talent 2 : If Wriothesley is in the Chilling Penalty state conferred by Icefang Rush and his current health increases or decreases, Chilling Penalty will gain one stack of Prosecution Edict, for a maximum of five stacks. Each stack of Prosecution Edict increases Wriothesley's attack by 6%.

Is Wriothesley worth pulling?
No, from a power level standpoint, Wriothesley is not worth pulling for F2P players. He has somewhat underwhelming damage numbers and does not have any unique traits to his play style. But do keep in mind, that Genshin Impact is a casual game, so ultimately you should pull for the character you like the most design-wise, gameplay or story-wise.
If you are a F2P player, then it's better to skip for Wriothesley and save for Hydro Archon Furina. Furina will be released in Genshin Impact version 4.2. Wriothesley has been released after Lyney and Neuvillette, all three of them are on-field DPS characters, and Wriothesley feels a tier below the other two characters.
